Democrats in CRISIS: DNC Is BROKE, Approvals Are DOWN, Voters Are LEAVING — Time to FIRE Ken Martin
💰 The Democratic Party is BROKE — and 2026 Could Be a DISASTER 💰
Welcome to The Josh Lafazan Show. Today, I need to level with you: the Democratic Party is heading straight for a political train wreck — unless something changes fast.
The numbers don’t lie. New campaign finance filings show the Republican National Committee ended June with $80.7 million in the bank. The Democratic National Committee? Just $15.2 million. That’s not just a gap. That’s an earthquake. Republicans have a five-to-one cash advantage as we head toward the 2026 midterms.
And here’s the brutal truth: campaigns don’t run on good vibes. They run on ads, organizers, lawsuits, and infrastructure. Right now, the DNC is failing at all of it under Chairman Ken Martin. It’s time to say it clearly: Ken Martin must go.
1. The Cash Crisis
The DNC has never been this weak in five years — not under Tom Perez, not even during the rebuilding after 2016. Meanwhile, Republicans are building an unstoppable war chest fueled by billionaires, corporate PACs, and grassroots MAGA donors. Small-dollar enthusiasm has cratered, big donors don’t trust the party, and grassroots activists feel uninspired. This isn’t bad luck. It’s bad leadership.
2. The House Map
The House is up for grabs in 2026, and Democrats should be competing everywhere. From New York’s redrawn suburban seats to California’s gerrymandering fights, from Texas’s aggressive GOP map to swing districts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, millions will be needed to flip control. Republicans know it — that’s why they’re sitting on $80 million.
3. The Senate Battlefield
The Senate map is brutal for Democrats: defending razor-thin seats in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Michigan. At the same time, opportunities exist in Florida, North Carolina, and Texas. But Senate races cost upwards of $100 million each. Without resources, Democrats won’t even be in the fight.
4. Gerrymandering & The Map Wars
Republicans in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Ohio have drawn maps to lock in power. California Democrats are trying to push back, but lawsuits require lawyers, organizers, and money. Without it, Democrats are surrendering before the campaign even begins.
5. The Trump Factor
Trump remains toxic nationally — underwater with independents, suburban women, and young voters. In swing districts, he’s a liability. But here’s the catch: Democrats can only take advantage of that if the party invests in ads, organizers, and turnout operations. If the DNC is broke, Trump’s weakness won’t matter.
6. A History of Democratic Comebacks
After 2004, Howard Dean’s “50 State Strategy” rebuilt infrastructure. In 2008, Obama inspired record-breaking small-dollar donations. In 2018, grassroots anger at Trump fueled the biggest midterm surge in modern history. What has Ken Martin done? Presided over the weakest reserves in half a decade while Republicans outspend us five-to-one.
Here’s the bottom line:
The DNC is broke.
The RNC has $80 million.
The House and Senate are in play.
Gerrymandering battles are underway.
Trump is toxic — but only if Democrats have the resources to exploit it.
If Democrats don’t get serious, Republicans will buy the 2026 midterms. We’ll lose the House. We’ll lose the Senate. And Donald Trump will march into 2028 with unchecked power.
It doesn’t have to be this way. But we need urgency. We need strategy. And we need new leadership. Ken Martin must go — because if Democrats don’t fix this now, we risk losing everything.
